BALTIMORE, MD – October 2, 2006 -- Metastorm, a leading provider of Business Process
Management (BPM) software for modeling, automating, integrating, and improving both human
and system-based processes, today announced it has been named to Deloitte's prestigious
Technology Fast 50 Program for Maryland, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology,
media, telecommunications and life sciences companies in the state by Deloitte & Touche USA
LLP, one of the nation’s leading professional services organizations. Rankings are based on the
percentage revenue growth over five years from 2001–2005.
“To rank on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50, companies must have phenomenal revenue growth
over five years,” stated Mr. Andrew Harrs, Deloitte’s Southeast TMT RIL Regional Managing
Partner. “Metastorm has proven to be one of the fast-growth success stories in Maryland, and
we applaud their dedication to making their vision a reality.”
To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least
$50,000 in 2001 and $5,000,000 in 2005, be headquartered in North America, and be a company that owns proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of
revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies' technology or
intellectual property in a unique way does not qualify.
“Metastorm is honored to be named by Deloitte in their prestigious Technology Fast 50 Program
for Maryland for the fourth consecutive year,” stated Chris Desautelle, CFO of Metastorm. “The
business process management market is growing rapidly, and we continue to maintain a leadership position in this market. Our continued growth and leadership can be attributed to our emphasis on product excellence and innovation and on providing our customers with a product that helps drive success by improving core business process and contributing to top line business objectives.”
The Maryland Technology Fast 50 program is presented by Deloitte and sponsored by WilmerHale, NASDAQ and UK Trade & Investment, in association with media sponsors PR Newswire and Washington SmartCEO Magazine.
Winners of the 16 regional Technology Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are
automatically entered in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America’s
